Hispanic Heritage Month (September)
Plan a fun afterschool activity highlighting Hispanic customs and traditions.
National Read a Book Day (September 6)
Donate children’s books and read with students in the library
Guadalupe’s Trunk or Treat (October 25)
Collect and donate candy, toys, and costumes, and/or assist in decorating and staffing the event.
Winter Events
Winter Coat & Shoe Drive (November)
Organize a winter coat and boot drive for Prek-6 grade students and help wrap, bag, and drop off donated items.
Spring Events
Valentine’s Day (February 14)
Plan a Valentine’s Day art project or cookie decorating activity.
National Reading Month (March)
Donate books and read with students in our afterschool program.
National Craft Month (March)
Plan an afterschool craft project.
Spring Cleaning (March 31 – April 4)
During our Spring Recess, help deep clean and reset the school, our grounds, and the buses.
Spring Egg Hunt (April)
Plan a spring egg hunt for our Early Learning students.
Earth Day (April 22)
Plant trees or flowers with students while educating about the importance of plants.
Last Day of School (May 29/30)
Create “Continued Learning” kits for students to take home over the summer.
Summer Events
National Physical Fitness & Sports Month (May)
Plan a physical activity, sport, or game in our afterschool program.
Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5 – 9)
Help recognize our wonderful teachers with handwritten notes, gift bags, or decorating classrooms and the breakroom.
6th Grade Graduation (May 29)
Help set up and decorate for graduation, compile swag bags or graduation gifts.
Help clean and reset the school, cafeteria, buses, and grounds.
Fall Clean-up (November)
Leaf removal, litter & garbage clean-up, outdoor classroom reset, grounds maintenance, etc.
Thanksgiving Meal Kits (November)
Organize a food drive and supply Thanksgiving Meal Kits to families in need.
Gifts for Guadalupe (November)
Collect toys and books to provide holiday gifts to Guadalupe students. Help with collection, organization, distribution, and staffing our gift-wrapping party.

Plan a craft project to help students make cards or gifts.
Field Day (May 28)
Staff each field day activity and cheer on our students.
Summer School Tie-Dye (July)
Help our students make tie-dye shirts by collecting materials and staffing stations
Back-to-School Drive (July/August)
Collect backpacks and back-to-school supplies for incoming Prek-6 grade students. Help assemble kits and distribute them to classes
Year-Round Events
Library Reset & Restock
Help clean, reset, organize, and restock our library.
Early Learning Sanitization (Friday’s)
Help clean and sanitize daycare classrooms.
School Maintenance & Cleaning (Afterhours)
Help clean our school, sanitizing classrooms, lockers, and common areas.
Adult Education
Teach English classes to adult immigrants. No experience necessary. One night a week for 2 hours, with a 3-month commitment.
Mobile Food Pantry Distribution Days
Assist the Utah Food Bank to distribute meal kits to food-insecure families.
Mobile Food Pantry Dates: TBD
Collection Drives
Collect pantry items, school uniforms, toys, school supplies, and snack items.
Volunteer Groups are limited to 30 individuals.
Volunteer groups are responsible for providing materials and supplies for chosen activities.
Other opportunities will be taken under consideration to ensure benefit to both the Guadalupe Center community and volunteering individuals or organizations.
