Bridging learning gaps and preventing the summer slide for pre-K to 6th grade students
Guadalupe Center: Summer School Program
Our Summer School program at Guadalupe Center provides academic support, enrichment activities, social-emotional learning, and interactive family engagement. We aim to address the unique challenges our students face due to socioeconomic barriers and interrupted learning experiences.
Summer School Overview
Our six-week Summer School program serves nearly 250 students and runs Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Designed to keep students learning and engaged during the summer, our program helps students strengthen their academic skills while enjoying fun, hands-on enrichment activities. By the time they move on from Guadalupe Center, they’ll be better prepared for future success.
Our Goals:
- Prevent summer learning loss through academic support
- Get students who are behind back on track
- Boast academic results for our students
- Develop teamwork skills and effective communication
- Enhance self-esteem and boost confidence
Beyond academics, our Summer School includes engaging activities and enrichment opportunities including:
- STEAM activities
- Arts and crafts
- Outdoor games and activities
- Weekly field trips to cultural and recreational sites
Our OST Summer School program is essential in empowering our students to reach their full potential and succeed academically and beyond.
